Technology Selected for a Clinical Purpose
Technology plays an important role across many YT Medical services, but equipment alone does not determine whether a treatment is appropriate or effective. Our approach is to use specialist diagnostic and treatment technology where it provides a clear benefit within a properly assessed treatment pathway, rather than presenting devices as treatments in their own right.
The clinic brings together technology across Hair Restoration, Regenerative Medicine, Advanced Aesthetics and Laser, including Digital Trichoscopy, specialist PRP and PRF processing equipment, EndoFibre technology, SHR Laser Hair Removal, Fractional CO₂ Laser, Pico Laser and other skin-treatment platforms.
The technology selected for an individual patient depends on the concern being treated, anatomy, skin or hair characteristics, medical history and realistic treatment objectives.
Hair and Scalp Diagnostics
Digital Trichoscopy provides magnified imaging of the hair and scalp and can assist assessment of characteristics that are difficult to evaluate with the naked eye alone. Depending on the condition, this can include patterns of hair density, shaft variation, miniaturisation, follicular changes and features affecting the scalp.
Trichoscopy is particularly useful when combined with clinical history and examination. Images may also provide a record against which selected changes can be reviewed over time.
PRP and PRF Processing
Platelet-based regenerative treatments depend not simply on drawing blood, but on processing it appropriately to create the intended preparation. YT Medical uses specialist centrifugation equipment within its PRP and PRF treatment pathways for both Hair Restoration and selected regenerative aesthetic applications.
PRP and PRF are different preparations and can require different processing protocols. The treatment is therefore considered according to the biological preparation required rather than treating all centrifuged blood products as interchangeable.
EndoFibre Technology
EndoFibre is a minimally invasive fibre-laser technology used for selected skin-tightening and facial-contouring concerns. A fine optical fibre is introduced beneath the skin to deliver controlled laser energy within the tissue, producing thermal effects that may contribute to tissue contraction and longer-term collagen remodelling.
Because EndoFibre works beneath the skin, it is substantially different from a conventional surface laser facial. Suitability depends on facial anatomy, degree of tissue laxity and the amount of change the patient is hoping to achieve.
Laser Hair Removal Technology
YT Medical provides SHR Laser Hair Removal for suitable unwanted facial and body hair. Laser hair reduction relies on controlled delivery of energy towards pigment within appropriate hair follicles and requires a planned course because hairs move through different phases of growth.
Treatment settings need to be matched to skin and hair characteristics. Technology cannot overcome the fundamental limitation that very lightly pigmented hair provides little suitable target for laser energy.
Fractional CO₂ Laser
Fractional CO₂ technology provides a more intensive approach to skin resurfacing and collagen remodelling. It creates controlled microscopic treatment zones within the skin and may be used for selected concerns involving texture, fine lines, acne scars, surgical scars and stretch marks.
The depth and intensity of treatment can be adjusted, but increased treatment strength also affects recovery and risk. CO₂ procedures therefore require appropriate skin assessment and careful aftercare.
Pico Laser
Pico Laser technology delivers energy in extremely short pulses and has applications including Tattoo Removal, SPMU Removal, selected pigmentation treatments and certain skin-rejuvenation procedures.
Different colours and targets absorb different wavelengths, which is why the specific technology and settings matter when treating tattoo ink or pigmentation. Not every pigment can be treated equally, and appropriate assessment remains essential before laser treatment begins.
Technology Is Only Part of the Treatment
The presence of advanced equipment does not mean that every patient needs technology-based treatment. In some cases, a simpler treatment may provide the most appropriate result, while in others diagnostic information may show that treatment should be deferred or undertaken through another healthcare pathway.
Our focus is therefore on combining assessment, clinical judgement and appropriate technology rather than recommending procedures simply because a device is available.
