Full Body Laser Hair Removal
A Comprehensive Approach to Hair Reduction
Full Body Laser Hair Removal is designed for patients who want to reduce unwanted hair across multiple areas rather than arranging separate treatment courses for each part of the body. It provides a coordinated programme using the same principles as individual-area laser treatment, targeting suitable pigmented hairs during their active stages of growth.
At YT Medical, a Full Body programme is still personalised to the individual. Full body does not mean that every area must automatically be treated, and the exact regions included will be agreed during consultation according to your preferences, hair distribution and suitability.
Planning Your Treatment Areas
A Full Body programme may incorporate multiple areas such as the legs, arms, underarms, torso, back and selected bikini or intimate regions, with facial treatment considered separately where appropriate. Your consultation provides an opportunity to identify where hair reduction is wanted and whether each area contains hair suitable for laser treatment.
Hair density and characteristics can differ considerably across the same patient. Coarse dark hair in one region may respond strongly, while finer or less pigmented hair elsewhere may respond less predictably. Each area therefore needs to be assessed rather than assuming that every part of the body will respond identically.
How Does a Full Body Course Work?
Laser Hair Removal requires repeated treatment because hair follicles move through different growth stages independently. Your course is scheduled at intervals designed to progressively target suitable follicles as additional hairs enter active growth.
Over successive treatments, patients may notice that hair becomes less dense, slower to return and finer in areas that respond successfully. Results vary between different parts of the body, and hormonal influences can make some regions more prone to continued or new hair growth.
A maintenance appointment may occasionally be useful after the initial course, but this should be based on actual regrowth rather than assuming that treatment must continue indefinitely.
Preparing for Your Appointments
Because a Full Body appointment involves multiple areas, following preparation instructions carefully is particularly important. Waxing, plucking and epilating should generally be avoided during the course, while shaving is typically used to manage hair between treatments and prepare appropriate areas before an appointment.
The skin should also be suitable for treatment. Significant sun exposure or tanning can increase the likelihood of an unwanted skin reaction, and fake tan or products on treatment areas can interfere with safe treatment. Any medication changes or new skin conditions should be disclosed before your appointment.
Results and Realistic Expectations
Full Body Laser Hair Removal can substantially reduce the amount of time some patients spend shaving or using other temporary methods, but it should be described as long-term hair reduction rather than guaranteed permanent removal of every hair.
White, grey, very light blonde and some red hairs may respond poorly because laser treatment relies on a suitable pigment target. Individual response also varies, meaning the eventual degree of reduction cannot be guaranteed before treatment begins.
Our approach is to monitor progress across your course and adjust the treatment programme according to how different areas respond.
