Supporting the Hair Starts With the Scalp

Healthy hair growth depends partly on the environment in which the hair follicles are functioning.

YT Medical offers a range of Hair & Scalp Therapies designed to support scalp health and complement appropriate hair-restoration programmes.

These include:

  • Medical Microneedling
  • Oxygen Scalp Therapy
  • LED Light Therapy
  • Copper Peptide Therapy
  • High Frequency Therapy
  • Selected scalp-care treatments

These therapies are not substitutes for diagnosing the cause of hair loss. They are recommended only where they have an appropriate role within the patient’s wider treatment plan.

Medical Microneedling

Medical Microneedling uses controlled fine needles to create small, temporary channels within the scalp.

The treatment has been investigated both independently and alongside other approaches for androgenetic alopecia. A systematic review of 22 clinical studies found generally favourable results, particularly when microneedling was used as an adjunct, while also noting that the overall quality of evidence was relatively low and treatment protocols varied considerably.

Oxygen Scalp Therapy

Oxygen Scalp Therapy is used at YT Medical as a supportive scalp treatment, with the aim of improving the scalp environment as part of an individual hair and scalp care programme.

It may be considered for patients experiencing scalp build-up, changes in scalp condition or where improving scalp care forms part of a broader hair-restoration plan.

It should not be viewed as a standalone cure for an underlying form of alopecia.

LED Light Therapy

LED and low-level light technologies use controlled wavelengths of light without creating surgical wounds or removing scalp tissue.

Light-based treatment has been studied particularly in androgenetic alopecia, although outcomes depend on the type of device, wavelength, protocol and underlying condition. A 2024 review found that the strongest evidence among physical treatments for androgenetic alopecia supported low-level light/laser therapy.

A Personalised Approach

The treatment recommended will depend on factors including:

  • Type of hair loss
  • Scalp condition
  • Follicular activity
  • Existing hair density
  • Previous treatments
  • Wider hair-restoration objectives

Some patients may benefit from a scalp-focused treatment before progressing to other procedures, while others may use these therapies alongside PRP, PRF, regenerative treatments or a longer-term hair-retention programme.

Begin With an Assessment

If you are experiencing hair loss alongside scalp concerns, a Hair & Scalp Assessment can help establish what is happening and which treatment options may be appropriate.
