A lightweight mesh structure is fitted across the affected area and the patient’s existing hair is incorporated through or around the mesh. Additional hair is then attached to the system and blended with the natural hair.

Existing natural hair can then be incorporated through the structure before additional hair is attached and blended into the finished style.

Is Mesh Integration a Treatment for Hair Loss?

Mesh Integration provides coverage rather than treating the biological cause of hair loss.

Patients can still undergo appropriate investigation or management of their underlying condition where required.

This distinction can be particularly useful for patients who want an immediate improvement in appearance while continuing to manage an ongoing hair-loss condition.

Scalp and Hair Assessment

Before fitting an integration system, the existing hair and scalp should be assessed.

Active scalp inflammation, significant irritation or very fragile remaining hair may affect whether this type of hair replacement is appropriate.

An Alternative to a Full Wig
